Take part in the Teahead community study on how best to age White tea with this delicious Fuding 2015 Bai Mu Dan. This kit comes with 80g of tea, pouches, silica gel and instructions for experimenting with ageing White tea.
I am continuously been asked advice about how to age White tea properly. Because Aged Whites are a relatively new tea type I don't think that we have enough experience to really give definitive answers - airtight or not, dry or humid, warm or cool conditions?
So, we have sourced a yummy mid-aged Bai Mu Dan (we don't want to be waiting 7 years to find answers) which has been stored in cool, dry conditions for 5 years. It is a pinnacle tea as it is (read those tasting notes), so feel free to drink it fresh but try to save some to use for this White Tea ageing study.
This pouch contains 80g of 2015 Fuding White Peony, an instruction letter and some pouches and desiccant to use in this study. YOU WILL have to buy a couple of sachets of 8g Boveda Humidity packs - these are about £3-5 online. We have not included the Boveda packs to allow you to choose the humidity that you desire. You can buy 60g packs but they are a bit of a tight squeeze in the pouches but doable.
Together, as a community, we are going to try to work out the perfect conditions for White Tea ageing - are you in?
