Cream Bun Scallywag is a Gushu (estimated 200-300 year old trees) Sheng PuErh from the Lincang area of Yunnan. This is one of my favourite areas for Raw PuErh, less famous than Xishuangbanna (and less pricey) but we have found some forests producing some very special tea.
This tea is remarkable because it packs in so much aroma and mineral structure, more reminiscent of Western Xishuangbanna areas like He Kai or Nannuo. The creaminess and steamed, starchy character of the tea is combined with a physical and powerful depth which excites the tongue and brings a balanced Cha Qi.
Cream Bun Scallywag has broad appeal, satisfying the pickiest PuErh heads with its potency, physicality and aroma while pleasing those who want a gentler, softer and creamier experience. A complete PuErh for any pinnacle session.
