A custom blend of two expertly ripened Bulang Spring 2015 PuErh Teas which were stored in Menghai and pressed in late 2021. Creamy indulgence meets bright minerality.
Kick Back Champ blends so much of what I love about Ripe PuErh in one harmonious session. It is made up of a 50-50 split of two Bulang PuErhs. One tea is a Gong Ting PuErh (made up of buds and very young leaves), and the other is a Grade 1 (less buds and more young leaves).
The Gong Ting provides a creamy, sweet and bready indulgence to the tea. Think of Japanese fluffy milk bread and proving dough next to malted ice cream and butterscotch
The Grade 1 tea adds fruits, sweet spice and a mineral structure to the experience. I taste cherry jam, cola, sweet woody spices and hot summer pavements.
If you look up at the name of the ice-cream parlour on the wrapper you will see 'Concrete & Cream' which was our working name for this blend - now you know why!
The body sensation of Kick Back Champ also lives up to its name - this is a tea with a cooling and bright energy which makes us happy and chilled with a 'shrug it off' vibe that lightens moods. A great solo tea or to indulge in breezy conversations.
Kick Back and be a champion of chill.
