Too many porcelain Gong Dao Bei's are overly ornate with traditional Chinese iconography. We wanted a more minimal stylish Gong Dao Bei and this is our choice. You can purchase matching cups too.

Perfect Pouring - We hate it when our Gong Dao Bei dribbles. The spout on this is long giving it a smooth and clean pouring action for mess free serving.

Ru Yao - The porcelain is Ru Yao which originated from Henan province in the Song Dynasty (about 1000 years ago). The technique uses iron to create a glaze with a glimmering lustre which will continue to shine. The firing process creates fine cracks in the glaze which will season with tea over repeated use and reveal a golden brown craquelure.

Colour - The blue green celadon colour is the perfect companion to Yixing clay and glass which makes it a universal tea cup.

Watcha as I describe this Gong Dao Bei (skip to 24:15).

About Gong Dao Bei's

The Gong Dao Bei is simply a pitcher for serving tea so that everyone receives an equal strength brew (that's why it is called a fairness cup). If you were to serve direct from a tea pot  or gaiwan, the first cup would get a weaker brew than the last cup (unless you are brewing Chaozhou style but that's a different conversation). The Gong Dao Bei allows you to strain the tea from the pot or gaiwan into this pitcher to even out the brew so that everyone gets to taste the same tea.
