Tea Pot Perfectionism

Being refused by a tea pot master shows the level of dedication to his life's work.

This experience says everything about doing business in China. It is not everyday that people refuse to take your money but this was the case on this day in Chaozhou.

The value given to reputation is much higher than cash and I totally respected Master Wu despite my frustration.

Incidentally we did manage to get this pot eventually but in a classically round about Chinese way. Master Wu gave the pot to a friend for free, knowing that that person would give it to another friend who would then give it to us! All because he didn't actually want to hand it over directly to a customer. So we got this incredible pot for free!
