So tiny and cute—perfect for tasting!

At first glance, this cup may appear to be very small but I love it for tasting tea. It is the perfect little sipper and the white colour and shallow profile means that assessing the colour of your tea liquor is so much easier.

This cup is traditionally used for Chaozhou style brewing. In this form of Gong Fu Brewing, the brewer dispenses with a Gong Dao Bei and instead pours directly from the Gaiwan into three small cups in a repeating circular motion. The skill is to try to ensure that all cups receive an even-strength brew by blending the earlier parts of the pour with the last few drops. Try it out - we have included an option for a Chaozhou bundle set with 1 small Gaiwan and three of these cups for a lower price. Even if you are brewing just for yourself or for two people you ALWAYS use three cups (someone receives an extra cup).

We think you’ll love:

A very small Gaiwan which is perfect for solo brews and horizontal tea sampling. A great way to brew rich tea without using many tea leaves.

The perfect way to store your tea. Stackable tins which have been designed to keep your tea organised easily.

Present your tea with style and function with a curved porcelain scoop.
