BOTANICAL INGREDIENTS
Safflower
Antioxidant. A botanical alternative to synthetic emollients. Hydrating properties lend skin a healthy glow, promote elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Contains beneficial fatty acids, primarily linolenic acid – can help repair skin’s barrier and that are of particular value to those with dry skin. Contains lubricant properties – prompt the skin to retain water and moisture. Contains omega-6 – packed with essential vitamins. Prevents dryness and roughness and removes dirt and oil. A key treatment for issues including eczema, psoriasis and acne.
Arnica
Offers antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and decongestive properties. Stimulates blood flow beneath the skin. Contain carotenoids (used during the formation of Vitamin A in the body), flavonoids (offering antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties), sesquiterpene lactones (antimicrobial active plant chemicals) and essential oil of thymol (antiseptic). A skin emollient which soothes and softens.
Tea Polyphenols
Belong to a group of antioxidant compounds known as catechins. Anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), green tea’s active component, can prevent collagen breakdown and reduce UV damage to skin.
Rose
Antioxidant which contains high amounts of vitamin C to help protect skin cells from damage. Can help prevent sunburn. Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory to help reduce swollen spots or redness on your skin. Calming and moisturizing with natural oils to help lock moisture into the skin. Especially beneficial for those with sensitive skin because the sugars in its petals create a soothing feeling. A natural astringent, rose helps tighten pores and restores suppleness for a glowing complexion.
Jonquilla Flower
Astringent containing the bioflavonoid quercetin.
SKIN SCIENCE INGREDIENTS
Collagen
The main component contributing to good skin tone and strength. Works in tandem with elastin to give skin its texture, structure, ability to stretch, and its smooth appearance. Uniquely able to bind with water to help maintain moisture levels.
Squalane
Derived from olives, this magical moisturiser can penetrate deep into skin and can prevent age spots, UV damage and improve skin cell regeneration. It is non-irritating and anti-bacterial.
Hyaluronic Acid
Humectant that plumps skin and delivers intense hydration by attracting and retaining moisture from water in the air. Regulates and promotes cell growth, and speeds healing.
24K Gold
Imparts an opulent, radiant glow. Locks in moisture and keeps skin firm by maintaining collagen in the skin and inhibiting the breakdown of elastin.
Matrixyl
Penetrates the skin easily and is structurally similar to the precursor of collagen type I. Can communicate with a cell and program it to do specific things, including repair work. Considered to be as effective against wrinkles as retinol.
Vitamin E
Antioxidant. Protects from oxidant damages, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, healing & anti-ageing effect. Reduces UV-induced erythema, edema, sunburn cell formation, and lipid per-oxidation.
