Delightfully unique pot made using excellent Yixing Zini Zisha clay. Handcrafted and painted by artists in Jingdezhen. Approx 180ml.
The Zini Curve is made by the same collective who craft our Zini Spiral and Zini Fountain Gaiwans. It features a tactile, curvaceous silhouette and a fast pouring spout through a ball filter.
The makers are from Jingdezhen - the ceramics mecca of the world, specialising in the finest of porcelain wares. But these artists are doing something different by working with Yixing Zisha clay and combining this revered material with the style and skill of Jingdezhen teaware.
The Zini clay which these artists have sourced is excellent quality with wonderful softening and thickening effects on the tea - perfect for Sheng (Raw) and Shu (Ripe ) PuErh, Yan Cha Oolong and Blacks
The pot is uniquely glazed and hand painted on the outside but the interior is left raw and unpolished. The dual texture gives the pot a rustic sophistication which is very different to the stylings of most Yixing pots.
The shape of the Zini Curve is a delight in the hands - round and full with excellent balance. It's size makes it the perfect pot for sessions for 1-4 people. The excellent heat retention of the clay means that you can brew at half capacity for solo sessions without the water cooling down too quickly. When you want to brew for more people you have that extra headroom with this size pot compared with 100-120ml wares.
