Definitely more like Dancong than Yancha; light, fruity flavors burst over the minerality. Nectarine and apricot yogurt with a nice long sweet finish.

    Recommends this tea

A crazy level of fruitiness! This Rou Gui is a very special grade tea bursting in stone fruit intensity that would rival a Dancong. Unmissable.

I am always stunned at how one cultivar can provide so many different experiences and Rou Gui is a perfect example. This cultivar has 200 plus years of history and has established itself as one of the favourites amongst Yan Cha lovers. I have personally tasted hundreds of Rou Gui teas throughout the years but I have never tasted one like this!

The perfumed fruitiness of peach candy, nectarine and mangosteen float atop the warmth of almond brittle to make a vibrant yet comforting brew like no other. I highly recommend tasting this next to Swallows Nest - another Rou Gui with a deep chocolatey character. In this way you can be amazed at how much difference can exist within the same cultivar.
