A top-shelf Silver Needle from Fuding - the birthplace of White tea. Aged since 2016.
Anybody who is remotely interested in White tea will know that Fuding in Fujian is revered for producing arguably the best White teas in the world and is highly collected by tea lovers. The problem with areas with such a reputation is that the price of the teas are inflated by the name tag and there is extra motivation to maximise yields from any Fuding tea fields which can reduce quality.
For the past couple of years, we have felt that the price of Fuding samples that we were tasting did not match the quality of the experience. So, we have been purchasing our Silver Needle from other areas like Zhejiang or Yunnan.
When we tasted this small batch tea we knew that we had to stock it because it perfectly represents all that we love about Fuding Whites - creamy, nutty and sappy with the added intensity which comes after a couple of years of ageing. This is the archetypal Fuding experience and, even though it is pricey, we felt that we had to offer it to all those who want a pinnacle Fujian Silver Needle in their collection.
This tea is one to enjoy as a treat and store for further ageing (pouches are available).
