I love to pair this one with the tiny gaiwan. They also fit perfectly into each other - which, to me, makes them perfect for travelling.

Gorgeous 80ml porcelain cup with a craquelure glaze. The epitome of style with a classic silhouette

This is one of my most used cups over recent weeks. It is not only beautiful and tactile but a joy to drink from especially when drinking solo.

Let's first talk about the size and shape. The 80ml (to rim) size is the perfect middle-ground capacity. It will fit right in with a group session being filled halfway but is also excellent to use as a standalone cup with a 100ml teapot or gaiwan (no need for a Gong Dao Bei).

The shape is perfect - a low enough centre of gravity to not get knocked over easily and curved walls which stop at vertical at the rim for easy sipping without excess neck bending.

The glaze is a deep jade green with depth and detail. The rim is highlighted with a complementary brown.

The craquelure effect encourages more and more use as the tea stains the cup with an eggshell pattern which matches the brown rim colour.

This is such a well-thought-out cup which is almost always being used in our sessions.
