Beautifully crafted solo gaiwan and cup set handmade by Czech artist Petr Jurnicek. This is my go to set up for elevated sessions. Approx 100ml.

I have been eyeing these sets for a while now and it was about time that we offered them to the tea community.

Petr Jurnicek is a Czech artist making unique teaware combining refined aesthetics with chunky and substantial functionality.

These are pieces which start with functionality leading design.

The gaiwan has a lovely shallow bowl design to enhance the visual appeal of the leaves and give plenty of room for different water pouring styles.

There is a hybrid approach to the pouring system with a gaiwan lid and shiboridashi grooves to make for easy pouring without escaping leaves.

The cup's shallow slhouette offers a wide sipping rim for tea to flow easily with natural aeration in every sip to enhance taste.

Petr has also created a set which stacks so it takes up hardly any space in your cupboard and is easy to wrap up and take on your travels.

But the functional supremacy of this Zhong set does not come at the expense of the look and feel of these pieces.

The outline shapes of gentle curves are balanced in the hand and on the eye.

The glazes are expressive - handmade and imperfect to show off the individuality of the piece and the presence of the maker in every session.

Whenever you are enjoying a solo brew, this will be your go to teaware.

Please see all of the colours below but please note that all pieces are individual with different patterns.
