Love my little toadie! Great feel in the hand and easy to use. I sometimes use the lid as a teapet :) Lovely gaiwan!

Welcome to the Toadhead - the easiest way to sling tea in a Gaiwan style (without having to balance a tilted lid).

The Gaiwan is arguably the best brewing invention of all-time. A lidded bowl to throw in your leaves with a big opening to sniff your tea with full gusto.

But some people feel that pouring from a Gaiwan is s little tricky - tilting the lid and clasping it so that it stays while decanting your tea.

Welcome to the easy pour gaiwan (similar to a houhin) which lets you nestle the lid securely while filtering your tea through the 15 holes in the rim of the lid itself.

The porcelain is thick for great heat retention and the glaze is speckled and textured for individual character. The style continues inside the bowl with a craquelure glaze and gradient of colours. PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH GAIWAN IS DIFFERENT AND SO GLAZE WILL BE SIMILAR BUT NOT IDENTICAL TO PICTURES.

The whole thing is topped off quite literally with a grinning, grumpy Toadhead feature.

Style and character blended with easy brewing = winning teaware.
