The perfect opportunity to taste a famous village Yiwu Spring Gushu PuErh, without the hefty price tag. Caramel sweet and syrupy with sweet pomelo and a little spicy funk!
This tea is from the much-revered Gao Shan village in Yiwu - watch us visiting the producers.
Huangpian are the larger leaves from the same batch as our Sweet Treat Envoy which are picked out and usually kept for the farmers to drink. The fine-picking version of this cake would be about 4x the price of this very affordable version, and there is no way that you could say that the experience in the cup is a quarter as good - in fact, some people actually prefer the Huangpian taste.
Off The Apps is a delicious PuErh which shows off the soft and syrupy character of Yiwu, blossoming with sweet florals, caramel and ripe orange fruits (think persimmon and papaya). The Huangpian version has less minerality compared with Sweet Treat Envoy (which will suit some tastes) while adding some herbal spices like methi and bay.
There is a funky vibe to this tea, too!
Reminiscent of sweet perfumed skin, fermented fruits and a little cheesecake intrigue. All sweet but undeniably sensual too. It kind of suits the wrapper!
