  • Great Taste 2014 One Star

  • Black Tea of the Year 2016

  • Rank

Powerful apothecary, eucalyptus, pines forest. Incredibly strong wintergreen and lingering camphor. Very clear lilac and cinnamon. Surprisingly intense perfumes, staying in my sinuses way after

Captivating black tea unlike any other tea available. Camphor, lilacs and menthol with cinnamon sweetness leading to a quenching minerality.

This special tea is from the Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan is one of the most unique Black teas out there. It is made from a special tea cultivar called Ruby 18  which was developed by the Taiwanese Tea Research people (TTRES). They started in 1962 but only completed in 1999 by cross breeding the Taiwanese Chin Xin leaf with the Assam leaf.

This ruby cultivar has a unique flavour profile with cinnamon and eucalyptus. It produces a Black tea that is very fragrant and rich but much lighter and sweeter than an Assam.

Ruby Black makes a great cold brewed tea.
