A ripe PuErh blend made from the 2016 Spring and Autumn Harvests of 100 year old tea trees from Bulang.
The leaves were carefully selected by a PuErh master (Mr Huang) with decades of experience in aged and fermenting tea. The entire process was overseen by the same master and the flavour is a result of expertly controlled natural fermentation. It demonstrates how knowledge and experience of different fermentation techniques is key to producing great ripe PuErh.
Ripe PuErh contains a huge diversity of microbial activity and the wet piling process used to make this tea is not easy to control. If it is done without enough care or expertise then it can make ripe tea which is overly musty or even fishy. Most good factories have a good control of the factors to make decent tea but this tea is an example of one man taking complete control of the process from start to finish.
The flavour and texture of the After Party Enchanter has been noticeably crafted in a very purposeful way. The overiding experience is one of smooth and silky caramel and fudge and the tea has a bright, happy but relaxed energy.
