Creeping Lily Turf Root

Mai Men Dong - Tuber Ophiopogonis Japonici

This Chinese herb is used to replenish fluids and can help to moisten the lungs for relief of dry coughs and hoarseness. It is often prescribed to people who have general dryness such as dry mouth, feeling thirsty regularly and constipation.

We usually throw it into soups or simmer for a few minutes in water (mixed with other herbs) whenever we have a chesty cough.
