Nettle, slight prickle in the back of the throat. Warm cotton, a hint of vanilla

A sweet and rich Fuding White Peony King, which has been sun-dried and made with a blend of buds and young leaves. Picked from 50-year-old bushes of the Da Bai cultivar.

Soft, syrupy and bursting with hazelnut nougat, cherry jam and meadow flowers.

This 2025 White Peony is actually a White Peony King meaning that it is made from finer pickings. Usually, I am wary of an overly buddy White Peony because it lacks balance but this batch is gorgeous - warm, nutty and sweet while having a structure and spice (which comes from the larger leaves).

This depth and richness is partly due to the age of the tea bushes but also because this tea is traditionally made under the sun which adds that unmistakable warmth and a wider spectrum of aromatics.

This produces a tea which is flowery witth orchids and orange blossoms, milky with nut milks, spicy with vanilla and comforting with sweet muffins and nougat.

Body sensation is also noticably more potent than your standard Bai Mu Dan. The head gently prickles with stimulation and the tongue tingle with melon juiciness.

An abundant White Peony experience at a price that left us a bit baffled but we are not complaining!

This tea is suitable for ageing in much the same way as PuErh ageing. Store loose at humidity over 50% (preferably around 62%) in airtight conditions.
