Astringent, hay, roasted cocoa, slight coffee aroma.

  • Rank

Fruity yet balanced, makes the back and sides of the tongue tingle, hints of syrup. Light and gentle taste.

  • Rank

Very light, a little thin but with a slightly fruity and floral sweetness. Holds up well to many infusions. Not overly exciting, but a good "everyday drinker" with no bitterness.

Lightly acidic grape flavor combined with dried hay notes and a touch of minerality.

Yunnan Province is home of  some of the finest Black teas in the world (actually some of the finest of many types of tea). It is the spiritual mother province of tea and is one of our favourite partsof the world for tea hunting.

This tea is a great introduction to one of the more bold Chinese Black teas made from the Assamica variety (as opposed to the more delicate Sinensis Black teas from Fujian).

We think that Yunnan Black is a great benchmark for judging a high quality but affordable Chinese Assamica for everyday drinking.
