One of the most spectacular cups I have ever seen and a prize in my collection.

This 70ml (to rim) cup is made from a silk-textured Dehua white porcelain which contrasts beautifully against the immaculate, glossy lacquer artistry on the exterior.
The shape of the cup is so simple yet unique, with perfect dimensions to have a stable base yet narrow and elegant profile.
Da Qi lacquer is a technique of unique cultural heritage. The lacquer is made from the sap of a tree which is coloured with pigments and applied to the porcelain in multiple layers. The lacquer hardens and becomes glassy before being polished to finish. This is a very skilled and time-consuming process and creates one-off unique pieces.

The indigo blue pigment is offset with iridescent gold and mother-of-pearl to create a shimmering display.

Truly a masterpiece and the ultimate gift for any tea lover.
