The Huang Dan cultivar is sometimes called Huang Jin Gui (Yellow Golden Osmanthus) and is an early sprouting tea cultivar used to make Tie Guan Yin and other teas. It is a very fragrant variety with a slightly more golden yellow appearance compared with Greener cultivars of Tie Guan Yin.
The beauty of this tea is its creamy sweetness making it a really easy-drinking tea. The Huang Dan cultivar has a lot of the fruit and flowery notes of a Tie Guan Yin without hardly any of the sourness which is associated with this type of Oolong.
