A brighter and more zingy batch of Zhu Ye Qing (aka Bamboo Sabre). Brimming with green mango and zesty fruits but without the raw harshness of so many of these teas - this is developed and produced to perfection.
We already have a Zhu Ye Qing available which is made from the heirloom Qun Ti Zhong cultivar and it is a world of difference from this tea - warm and brothy with creams and sweet ripe mango.
I HIGHLY recommend comparing this Sparrow's Tongue with our heirloom Bamboo Sabre in a side by side tasting.

Sparrow's Tongue is a totally different batch of tea even though it is the same tea type and produced in the same origin. The main difference is cultivar - made from a small leaf Xiao Ye Zhong variety which gives the tea a lot more brightness and zesty character.
Normally we don't select this style of Zhu Ye Qing because they are most often too raw tasting and can have excessive bitterness but THIS BATCH is just perfection. It hits your nose and tastebuds with vibrant green fruits (apple and mango) to give you an incomparable youthful, verdant zing but crucially it is so restrained in its rawness. It has a starchy and milky finish to round out the experience and the bitters are perfectly restrained - just enough to give you a little intrigue but then transforms to a starfruit sweetness.
