Yes, it is a fact that there is a worldwide supply issue for Matcha. Demand has skyrocketed, and 2025 harvest volumes are down compared to previous years. All this means that it is much harder to get your hands on PROPER matcha, and the price will be going through the roof.
But hey, we are here to help by offering you Master grade matcha for a few bucks!
Haha, how are we doing this?
Well, the truth is that we recently stumbled upon some of our Master's matcha from 2023, which was packed in airtight foil back then and somehow left in the corner of our cold room and forgotten.
So we have some immaculate matcha (albeit 2 years old) and we are happy to sell to you for a silly price just to keep your matcha bowls filled before we get our 2025 harvests (estimated mid September).
I have just cracked open one of these Matcha packs myself and it is still a glorious tea. The picture above is a 'no filter' shot from my bowl so you can see the colour of the Matcha.
The Matcha has lost a little of its vibrancy but the texture is smooth and velvety and the taste is rich, nutty, umami and sugary on the finish.
The original tasting notes are shown opposite for this Matcha. The taste of whipped cream, silken tofu, peanut butter and sweet kiwi flesh is pretty much the same but with a little hint of Sakura blossom.
