Velvet Rock

One of the most satisfying yancha teas I've had to date. Two years later and it hits just as well, if not better. Incredibly smooth and reminiscent of Dong Fei Mei Ren in terms of taste.

Leather, sawdust, dulce de leche

Peach gummy candies, slate, melted snow, green banana astringency

Smooth and round, bright caramel, mineral with a little quench.

Cherry, jasmine, molasses sweetness with a hint of wood varnish and wet rocks. Smooth easy sipping

Slightly floral, creamy fudge, a bit of spice and orange chocolate.

Some floral honey-like notes on the nose, overall nice balance of minerality, roast, and, some fruitiness.

I get the osmanthus, a little bit of tobacco, minerality.

Sweet, oaty, wet rocks

At beginning it hits with dryness and mineral taste which is overcome by taste that reminds me river in wet forest. At the end there is a taste of sweet caramely apple candy.

Osmanthus, Dark chocolate covered caramel, grape skin

Wet leaves smell of varnished wood with a hint of flowers. Flavour of butter, flowers and apples in the brew. Works well with Jianshui clay cup which enriches and roundens the taste.

Very vivid mouthfeel.

Earthy, wet rock with an oily mouth feel that lingers on the tongue. Sweetness comes out more in the aftertaste. tangy grapes lemon peel.

Buttery toffees, gardenias, caramel, and roasted peaberries that impart a sweet, mineralised puckering finish.

Pulling bitter fruit skin (red apple, red grape) like a dancong. Soapy, wet hot jungle rocks. SO good

Melted peach candy on hot wet rocks and some smashed grape on the side! xD

Incredibly fruity; muscatel grapes, baked apples, melon candy, and osmanthus layered over roasted grains and river rock minerality (those perfectly smooth ones you skip with).

Lovely Oolong. The fudge notes in the aftertaste combine so beautifully with the initial rocky flavours. Do smell the gong dao bei, you won't regret it.
