A vaporous and rich PuErh with all of the funky sweetness that we love about Pasha.

We have been searching for a pure Pasha Sheng PuErh ever since 2016. One of our first ever own-brand raw PuErh's was Monocle Boss from Pasha, and it has retained a cult-like status amongst Mei Leaf followers.

The area is on the West side of Xishuangbanna near Bulang and Nannuo (places where we regularly source tea). It is an area held in high esteem by PuErh lovers, and we have always considered it one of the most intriguing mountains for PuErh.

So, of course, we have been tasting Spring and Autumn Gushu harvests for the past 6 years, but we never purchased any tea. Why? How can such an exciting origin be so lacking on our shelves?

Pasha, to my taste buds, has a uniquely active and mineral quality combined with a wild complexity of aromatics. These qualities make it special and desirable but also lead to teas which can lack balance and clarity, where the character is fuzzy and overpowering. I often taste a Pasha and the first couple of infusions are a bit mad with conflicting aromatics and just when I am hoping that the tea settles down, it is overtaken by an iron-rich minerality that adds too much noise to the taste.

Not this tea.

Breezy Bohemian is an example of Pasha at its absolute finest - a dancing symphony of madly beautiful aromatics all fizzing with a bright yet controlled minerality.

The taste is sweet and heady, combining the confectionary pleasures of butterscotch and meringues with the animalic and exotic redolence of musk and summer skin. The fruits and flowers of rose apple, melon and jasmine play alongside the spicy and deep fragrant punch of patchouli and allspice.

Very importantly, the trademark sedimentary minerality of Pasha does not overpower or fuzzy the flavours but instead animates the tea, adding a vaporous voluptuousness to enhance the aromatics and a sweet, active juiciness to the mouth.

Breezy Bohemian is a rich and wild taste experience with funk and fizz which somehow seems light and easy-drinking.

A remarkable feat that is just so Pasha - when the crosshairs come together, this mountain village hits the mark with the most spectacular and unique tea.
