Mountain Green

Chun Mee

In my opinion, this tea has nothing special about it and I wouldn't get it again even for the price I prefer to pay more but get something I like. just a generic grassy taste with nothing interesting.

My favourite breakfast tea. Rich, satisfying, without sweet notes, and marvelous with a slice of ginger. Great to get me into gear in the morning and not harsh on the empty stomach.

A strong green tea. Vegetal, light and warming. The wet leaves smell like a fresh tea field. To avoid any bitterness it is best to start with flash brews.

Tea with a very vegetable and green flavour of courgette, spinach and grass.

Delightful, full bodied but bright and airy.

This is our most affordable Green tea for daily drinking. It is a great tea for its price for those who can't get enough Green tea but can't splash out on a daily supply of the top shelf tea. That is not to say that this is low grade tea, in fact it is a lovely spring picked Green with a generous amount of bud and downy leaves compared with other Chun Mee.

Mountain Green has more warming, vegetal notes than your average Fujian or Zhejiang Green. This is because it is an Anhui tea made with the Chun Mee cultivar and made in the Young Hyson (Xi Chun) style. Mountain Green does not have the smokiness associated with lower quality Chun Mee or Gunpowder tea.
